Hi,
Documents I would like to see and work I think
should be done within IETF at this stage:
- BCP/Informational on Client Proxy Communication
(if WPAD is moving on, that may be a Standard)
How to find a Proxy
What is in current use
- Informational document on Inter Cache Communication
What is in current use
Protocol listing and short description
ICP, HTCP, WCCP, CARP, possibly HTTP/1.1, ICP extensions
- BCP/Informational on Operational Requirements
Stand alone caches
Cache interconnections
Transparency
Is there agreement on something like this being useful/neccessary for the
community? I heard strong consensus on client-cache protocol/communication
being a first step. The other proposed docs would serve as a baseline, and help
us see what needs to be done in this area.
Are there anyone else willing to write some of this?
Is there a need to meet at the Orlando IETF?
Ingrid
