I would like to request a second BOF for web cache and replication, to start
work in the group. Due to unforeseen problems with chairs, there has not
been formed a working group. Final goals for the group needs to be decided on.
There are documents to help understand the problem space.
Name of BOF: WREC Web replication and caching
(or, if you think it is wiser to keep the same name: WEBREPL)
Chairperson: John Martin, TERENA
Expected attendance: 20 persons working, 20-100 innocent bystanders
(there may be more people if web caching is still hip by December)
Reason to meet: Goals for group, submit charter, see also draft agenda
Draft agenda
1. Charter bashing 15 min
2. Client Proxy Communication 20 min
3. Inter Cache Communication 30 min
4. Operational Requirements 20 min
5. Wrap up 15 min
The optimistic time for charter bashing is based on an assumption that a
proposed charter will have rough consensus. If not, other items will be
moved off the agenda and time spent on the charter until consensus is reached. Documents will be available for discussion on agenda items 1-3,
outlines for item 4. This to facilitate understanding of the problem
space involved
If other documents are announced in the web cache area
these may be added to the agenda, time permitting
Comment:
What I would like most, is for us to meet as a working group. Given the short
time before IETF that may be unrealistic, even if we should manage to agree on
a charter this week.
