I have asked the IESG executive director to put the wpad document
on IESG's reading list. This is the first step toward publishing
wpad as an Informational RFC.
In due time, and with an amended charter, wrec may be asked to
consider whether to standardize wpad as part of a general
architecture for web caching and replication. In the meantime,
wrec has other things on its plate which were deemed by IESG and
IAB to be necessary preconditions for any standards development
activity.
